[SYNOPSIS]
소방관들은 삶과 죽음의 경계에 놓인 출동 현장에서 매번 인간의 한계를 절감하며 살아간다. 그들은 동료의 모습을 사진으로 기록하고, 화재로 생명을 잃은 아이들을 위해 노래하고, 달리기로 심장의 생동을 감각하고, 시를 읽으며 누군가를 기억한다. 언제든 사라져 버릴지 모를 생의 흔적을 움켜쥐려는 각자의 방식은 세상 곳곳에 흩어져 있는 불꽃을 기억하는 방법이다.
Firefighters, as first responders, live on the edge of life and death at every emergency call, constantly confronting the limits of human endurance. They document their colleagues with photographs, sing for children lost in fires, feel the pulse of life through running, and remember others by reading poetry. Their ways of grasping the fleeting life are how they remember the scattered flames across the world.

소방관들은 매일 반복해서 매듭을 묶고, 수관을 정리하고, 공기호흡기의 잔량을 확인하고 기계식 가슴압박 장치의 배터리를 충전한다. 그러나 이렇게 반복되는 훈련에도 불구하고 출동벨이 울리면 그들은 매번 처음 보는 현장으로 달려가야만 하고, 그 현장에서 생명들이 스러지는 모습과 마주하곤 한다. 집으로 돌아온 그들은 어떤 죽음을 애도하고 기억하기 위해, 때로는 어떤 죽음을 잊어버리기 위해 또다시 무언가를 반복한다. 영화는 이러한 반복을 카메라에 담는다.
Firefighters repeatedly tie knots, organize fire hoses, check the remaining capacity of the breathing apparatus, and charge the batteries of mechanical chest compression(LUCAS) every day. However, despite this routine training, when the dispatch bell rings, they are forced to run to the scene they encountered the first time and face the sight of vanishing lives. When they return home, they repeat some tasks to mourn and remember some deaths, sometimes to forget them. The film captures this repetition on camera.
