[SYNOPSIS]
Cheongju Zoo’s head veterinarian Jeong-ho Kim dreams of turning his zoo into the nation’s first sanctuary. The zoo hires animal welfare activist Tae-kyu Choi in hopes of establishing a bear sanctuary for rescued farm bears. Meanwhile, employees at neighboring Chungnam Wildlife Rescue Center support the idea of sanctuary as they unwillingly euthanize rescued animals that are unable to return to the wild.
[DIRECTOR'S NOTE]
I witnessed so many animals die as I made a documentary about zoos. But for several reasons, I couldn’t include all of their stories. So I wanted to make a story about the death of the animals. I saw many animals. I also saw many people working for those animals. And saw the death of many animals. However, there are still many deaths that are not included in this film. I hope all those deaths change the lives of the living animals.

[SYNOPSIS]
청주동물원의 김정호는 동물원을 토종야생동물보호소인 ‘생츄어리’로 바꾸려고 한다.
동물복지 활동가 최태규는 동물원내에 사육곰 생츄어리를 만들어 보자는 제안을 받고 청주동물원의 직원이 된다.
충남야생동물구조센터에서는 야생으로 돌려보낼수 없는 야생동물을 안락사 하면서 생츄어리가 생기기를 희망한다.
[DIRECTOR'S NOTE]
동물원을 다룬 다큐멘터리를 만들며 많은 동물의 죽음을 보았다. 하지만 여러 이유로 그들의 이야기를 모두 담을 수는 없었다. 그래서 동물의 죽음에 대한 이야기를 만들고 싶었다. 많은 동물들을 보았다. 동물들을 위해 일하는 사람들도 보았다. 그리고 많은 동물들의 죽음을 보았다. 하지만 여전히 영화에 담지 못한 죽음도 많다. 그 모든 죽음이 살아있는 동물들의 삶을 바꾸었으면 좋겠다.
