[SYNOPSIS]
"Busan-Masan Democratic Protests" was a democratic Uprising that took place in Busan and Masan (Changwon, Gyeongnam) from October 16 to 20, 1979. Two years have passed since the uprising was designated as a national anniversary. Since then, changes have continued, with the period of fact-finding extended and the compensation law revised. However, as of June 2021, only 300 of the 1,564 detainees were recognized as related. This is because arrest, torture, or treatment records have been intentionally discarded or lost. Those who participated in the uprising, including college students, seamstresses, bus drivers, high school students, mold engineers, advertising planners, and combat police, have lived for more than 40 years with different memories of the uprising. Among them, a photographer at the scene searches for people who could not record on the day of the uprising.

I wanted to resolve the Buma Democratic Uprising by focusing on individual eyes.

[SYNOPSIS]
부마민주항쟁은 1979년 10월 16일부터 20일까지 부산과 마산(경남 창원)등에서 일어난 민주항쟁이다. 이 항쟁이 국가기념일로 지정된 지 2년이 지났다. 이후 진상규명 기간이 연장되고, 보상법이 개정되는 등 변화가 이어졌다. 하지만 2021년 6월 기준, 구금자 1564명 가운데 관련자로 인정된 이는 300여 명에 불과하다. 체포·고문 또는 치료 기록이 의도적으로 폐기되거나 소실됐기 때문이다. 대학생, 재봉사, 버스기사, 고등학생, 금형기술자, 광고기획자, 전투경찰 등 항쟁에 참여했던 사람들은 항쟁에 대한 각기 다른 기억을 안고 40여 년의 세월을 살아왔다. 이 중 현장에 있던 사진기자는 항쟁 당일 기록하지 못한 사람들을 찾아 나선다.
