[SYNOPSIS]
지후(딸아이)가 한 살 때, 의사에게 충격적인 선언을 들었다. “아이가 뇌성마비일 수 있어요.” 그리고 7살이 된 지금도 지후는 여전히 까치발로 걷는다. 이 영화는 딸아이의 까치발을 계기로 돌아보게 된, 때로는 나 자신도 용납할 수 없는 내 솔직한 감정의 파고들을 대면하는 다큐멘터리 감독이자 엄마이며 여성인 한 인간의 자기 성찰기이다.
[DIRECTOR'S NOTE]
다큐멘터리 <까치발>은 장애자녀 엄마들의 헌신적인 사랑과 그녀들의 모성애를 다룬 영화가 아니다. 오히려 장애 자녀 엄마들을 비롯해 ‘여성’과 ‘엄마’라는 이름으로 요구되는 당위들에 질문을 던지고, 딸의 까치발을 계기로 돌아보게 된 감독이자 엄마인 한 여성의 솔직한 욕망과 고민들을 드러내고자 한다. 그 안에서 드러나는 갈등과 부딪힘을 통해 점차적으로 성장해 나가는 감독의 모습을 보면서 우리 모두는 자신의 감정을 솔직하게 ‘응시’하는 용기가 우리가 지켜내야 할 하나의 사랑의 방법임을 확인하는 시간이 될 것이다.

[SYNOPSIS]
When my daughter, Jihoo, was 1 year old, I took her to a doctor and heard something unexpected. "She might have cerebral palsy." Now that she is seven years old, she still walks on her toes.
This film is a self-reflection story of a person, as she tries to dig into the waves of honest and sometimes intolerable feelings brought by her daughter's toe walking.
[DIRECTOR'S NOTE]
This film is not about the devoted love of mothers with disabled children. Rather, I would like to ask questions about the duties required under the names of ‘woman’ and ‘mother’, and reveal a woman’s honest desires and concerns that she faces after her daughter’s tiptoeing. Through her gradual growth, it will be time for us to see that the courage of staring at our feelings honestly is one way of love that we must protect.
