[SYNOPSIS]
Doosan Apartment, Guro-dong. There are three people living in this house: Mom, Grandpa and “me”. Dad passed away 12 years ago but Mom and “I” still live with his father. From troubled marriage to moody father-in-law, Mom has million reasons to move out, but why doesn’t she?
While “I” struggle with all these unanswered questions, Grandpa tells them to move out.
[DIRECTOR'S NOTE]
In Korea, every woman is imposed with three roles upon marriage: a daughter-in-law as good as a biological one, an obedient wife, and a friend-like mother. My mom performed her tasks without complaining and watching her while growing up made me becomes a woman who absolutely loathed marriage.
But what she faced in return was a cruel reality where she had to move out from the house she had lived in for twenty years. I, who have wanted to escape from my grandfather’s house for a long time, became curious. What kept Mom from moving out herself? Why would she force marriage on me when she wasn’t happy with her own?

[SYNOPSIS]
구로동 집에는 나, 엄마 그리고 친할아버지가 산다.
12년 전 아빠가 돌아가신 후에도 엄마는 시아버지를 모시고 산다.
희생하는 엄마를 보고 자란 나는 결혼이 싫다.
그러던 중 친할아버지는 갑자기 따로 살자고 하지만, 엄마는 독립할 마음이 없어 보인다.
[DIRECTOR'S NOTE]
한국 사회의 여성에겐 결혼과 동시에 세 가지 역할이 주어진다.
딸 같은 며느리, 지고지순한 아내, 그리고 친구같은 엄마.
나의 엄마는 이 역할을 묵묵히 수행한 한국의 전형적인 어머니였고, 그 모습을 지켜보며 자란 나는 결혼을 혐오하는 여성이 되었다.
엄마는 20년 간 같이 살아온 시아버지 집에서 쫓겨나 독립해야하는 상황에 떠밀린다.
오래 전부터 할아버지 집에서 탈출하고 싶었던 나는 궁금해졌다. 무엇이 엄마가 이 집을 스스로 떠나지 못하게 만든 걸까.
순탄치 않았던 결혼 생활에도 불구하고 딸인 나에게 왜 결혼을 강요하는 걸까.
